The owl that always sat on Athena's shoulder

    • Athena and Poseidon got into a dispute over who the new city would be named after. To settle this dispute, whoever could offer the most valuable gift, would have the city named after them. Athena struck her spear on the ground and an olive tree was made. Because Athena did this, she got the city of Athens. She also has the Owl which she got because the Owl always sat on her shoulder and never in her hand. The owl also represents her wisdom

    • Athena is also called Pallas Athena. She is called this because she accidentally killed Pallas while practicing the arts of war. Because she was so upset of the kill, she decided to receive the name.

    • Polydectus was going to marry Perseus' mother, Denae, which he didn't want to happen. Since he didn't want them to get married, Polydectus made him a deal to kill Medusa. He went to Samos, killed Meduse and brought her head. Instead of giving it to Polydectes, he gave it to Athena because she was the one that turned Medusa into a monster.

    • Everyone in the towns would describe Athena as “the bright eyed” because she was so beautiful.

    • After Athena sprang from Zeus' head, they spent many years together which brought them very close. Athena became his favorite daughter.

    • Athena’s father, Zeus, the god of the sky and king of all the gods, swallowed her mother and his first wife, Metis, because he didn’t want to be robbed of his kingly rank. Because he swallowed Metis, he got headaches from the banging inside of him from her making armor. When he finally got tired of it, he had Hephaistos cut his head open and Athena, in full armor, leaped out of his head. In that case, Athena only has a father.

      Medusa
The sea god, Poseidon, admired Medusa. In the heat of the moment, Poseidon raped Medusa in Athena's temple of worship. Either because of what happened between Medusa and Poseidon or her sister's pettiness towards men, Athena turned Medusa and her 3 sisters into hideous monsters.

    • Even though Athena is the virgin goddess and she's sworn an oath of chastity, she has a son named Erichthonius. In Hephaestus' attempt to rape to rape Athena, he spilled a seed in which got her pregnant. Athena didn't blame him, but took responsibility in taking care of Erichthonius.

    • Athena, who lived on Mt. Olympus, was given the title of the goddess of wisdom and war. She was presented as the goddess of war because she would assist various heroes in a war. She's also the goddess of wisdom because she was very wise.

Kaitlynn Fachetti's Athena Dramatic Writing

I chose the colors of black and purple for my glitter text because Athena is both a beautiful woman, which the purple would represent because it's bright, and she's also the war goddess which I think the black would represent. I also made my music the way it is because it's both heavy as in dark for war, and light as in calm and soothing for her beauty and wisdom.
